NBC Olympics.com – Great Britain's Laura Trott had a sizeable lead entering the final event of the omnium and she easily held on to win to the gold. She already has one gold medal under her belt when Team GB won pursuit earlier this week and she won three of the six omnium events to get her second. With four gold medals, Trott is the most decorated British woman in Olympic history.

Team USA's Sarah Hammer battled with Belgium's Jolien D'Hoore for the full 100-lap race to win the silver.  Hammer entered the points race in third place, but lapped the field and won enough sprints to leapfrog D'Hoore. Hammer also won silver in team pursuit behind Trott's Team GB. Hammer now has four silver medals, two in London, two in Rio.
