WNCN News – RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — Crabtree Valley Mall is on lockdown Saturday afternoon as workers were told to evacuate and police are closing roads around the mall following reports of gunshots fired inside the mall.

An incident was reported around 2:30 p.m. near the food court inside the mall. Police said that there was a report of gunshots fired inside the mall, but no confirmation of a shooting.

A witness told WNCN-TV's Amy Cutler that she heard gunshots fired. Another witness told WNCN's Patrick Priest that he heard two shots inside the mall.

An employee from H & M also told Cutler that workers were told to immediately evacuate the mall.

It's not clear if anyone was hurt, however, in any possible shooting.

Security officials are ordering people to leave mall property — telling them that a lockdown is in place and it will be in place for several hours.

Meanwhile, a post on Twitter showed video of people flooding out of an exit at the mall.

At least 100 people who were once inside the mall are now gathered at the Marriott across from the mall.

EMS and fire crews are setting up a staging area near the mall.
