(WSLS 10) - Take the family to downtown Roanoke tonight for Movies in the Market. Kids activities will start around 6 p.m. Then, bring a blanket or a lawn chair for the feature film, "Open Season, Scared Silly" which begins playing around sunset.

The Salem After Five Concert Series continues tonight. Jim Quick and Coastline will take to the stage. Gates open and 5 p.m. with the concert beginning at 5:30 p.m. Proceeds benefit the Salem Rescue Squad and the Community Christmas Store.

A hearing is set for today in federal court in Roanoke in the multi-million dollar defamation lawsuit against Rolling Stone Magazine. The lawsuit stems from an article about an alleged gang rape at the University of Virginia. UVA Associate Dean Nicole Eramo is suing the magazine, its publisher and the author of the now retracted article for casting her as a villain. Eramo is suing for $7.5 million.

The Christiansburg Lions Club holds its annual golf tournament today at Auburn Hills Golf Club. Proceeds from the event benefit the clubs goal of providing glasses and eye examinations to local school age children and others in need.

Last Chance Enrollment continues today at Patrick Henry Community College. School staff are setting aside the day to help with advising, registration and financial aid. Classes at Patrick Henry begin next Thursday.

Tickets go on sale today at noon for Bob Dylan and His Band. Dylan will perform at the Berglund Center on November 5th. He has written more than 600 songs, releasing more than 40 albums since the 1960s. Tickets start at $59.50.

Danville Utilities asks power customers to reduce electricity use today as its wholesale supplier issues a peak power alert today. This is the fifth alert of the summer. The alerts serve to reduce costs as transmission and capacity charges are set in part during peak power periods. You're asked to turn off lights, unplug electric chargers and raise the thermostat between 1 p.m. and 6 p.m.

94.9 Star Country holds its tenth annual Cure Kids Cancer Radiothon starting today. Over the past nine years, the radiothon has raised more than $2 million. Money raised benefits Carilion Children's Pediatric Hematology and Oncology Clinic. It runs until 6 p.m. tonight and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. tomorrow.

Some college students start moving into dorms today. International students as well as some transfers and freshmen will begin moving in at Averett University. The rest of the students will move in this weekend. Classes begin on Wednesday.
