Roanoke County Police arrest suspect wanted in connection to Vineyard Park shooting

ROANOKE COUNTY (WSLS 10) - Roanoke County Police arrest a man they say is responsible for a shooting at Vinyard Park.

Authorities arrested Donaven Keith McCoy, 21, of Roanoke. He was wanted for several felonies including two counts of shooting into an occupied vehicle, one count of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and one count for attempted malicious wounding.

According to police, McCoy and another suspect, Damien Scott Smith, 23, of Roanoke, fired shots at two vehicles in Vineyard Park during a fight on May 10. Officers say at least four men were in those vehicles at the time of the shooting.

Smith has been arrested and charged.
