Lynchburg Police: 2 escape from juvenile detention center

LYNCHBURG (WSLS 10) Lynchburg Police are looking for two 17-year-old males who ran away from the Lynchburg Juvenile Detention Center Thursday afternoon.

They say the two are part of a court ordered post-dispositional program. The group was at Riverside park as a part of the program’s activities. That’s when police say they ran away from staff.

Police say the two were originally placed with the detention center on non-violent felony offenses.

Anyone with information regarding the location of the juveniles is asked to contact Detective A.O. Kittrell at (434) 455-6170 or Crime Stoppers at 1-888-798-5900.
