Body found in Greenbrier County identified as missing teen

Patrice Mitchell, ProducerGREENBRIER COUNTY (WVVA) - A body discovered Tuesday by a cadaver dog in Caldwell, WV has been identified.

According to Sgt. Drew Pendleton with the West Virginia State Police, the body found under a large pile of debris along Howard's Creek is Mykala Phillips, 14, of White Sulphur Springs.

After seven weeks of searching and near the end of an eight-hour day, the dogs found the body near Route 60 in Caldwell.

The body was found under a propane tank in a pile of debris near the river.

She went missing during historic flooding on June 23 and was presumed dead.  Dental records were used determine her identity.

A total of 23 people died during flooding in West Virginia.
