BLACKSBURG (WSLS 10) -  Blacksburg Middle School is ready for the new school year. The building is now fully operational after a fire in March.   As you may remember classes had to be cancelled for one day.  Crews believe the fire was sparked from a lightning strike and when crews arrived, they saw smoke coming from the roof above the 6th grade wing of the school.

The water damage has been repaired and those repairs were covered by insurance after a $1,000 deductible.  We're told if you compared the rooms from the beginning of last year to today you wouldn't notice a difference.
