(WSLS 10) - Eleventh Street in Lynchburg between Commerce and Main Streets will close starting today. Crews will install a fiber duct. The closure is expected to last for a week.

The inspection of the tunnel on Airport Road in Roanoke continues today. The southbound side will be shut down today. Traffic will be routed onto one northbound lane. Work is expected to wrap up by 3:30 p.m.

Lane closure will continue today on Valley View Boulevard. Crews will pull and splice cable and reconstruct curbs and handicap ramps. The work is expected to wrap up later today.

The Martinsville-Henry County Chamber of Commerce holds its annual awards luncheon today. The chamber will honor small businesses in the manufacturing, service and retail sectors as well as an Uptown business. Secretary of Commerce and Trade Maurice Jones is expected to attend.

Virginia Mining Institute Mine Rescue competition wraps up today in Blacksburg. Coal mining safety teams will show off life-saving skills. The teams are given an emergency situation and are scored on skill, technique and timing. Awards will be presented this afternoon.

We will get a first look inside the new Heritage High School in Lynchburg today. The school board approved the $63.4 million project in March of 2014. Classes begin in Lynchburg on August 15th.

The man who police say robbed a pharmacy at gun point will be sentenced today. Joshua Cundiff plead guilty in Franklin County Circuit Court in June to one count of armed robbery. Police say Cundiff went to the Family Pharmacy in Schewels Plaza in February, showed a handgun and demanded narcotics. Police say he turned himself in three days later.

Salem Parks and Recreation holds continues its Movies at Longwood series tonight. Take the family to Longwood Park at sunset for Disney-Pixar's "Inside Out." The first fifty family will receive a free bag of popcorn.

Forecasters at Colorado State University will update their forecast for this year's Atlantic Hurricane Season. So far, there have been five tropical storms and one hurricane. The current forecast calls for 15 tropical storms and six hurricanes.
