Danger Safety Summit coming to Roanoke

ROANOKE (WSLS 10) - Help Save The Next Girl and The Roanoke Police Department will host the 1st Annual Launch Past Danger Safety Summit on August 6th, from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.

The event will offer safety sessions to both students and parents. The summit will be held at the Roanoke Police Academy located at 5401 Barns Avenue in Roanoke.

This event is free of charge and includes a free boxed lunch for all participants who register.

People man register for three of the following safety sessions: Basic Personal Safety, Situational Awareness, Drug & Alcohol Awareness, Dating Violence, How To Handle Peer Pressure and Help Save The Next Girl Basic Principles.

Sessions will be taught by Roanoke Police Department, Help Save The Next Girl and Secure Higher Education.

There will be live music and local community service resources are invited to come and set up information booths.
