Nancy Harris excited for the big reveal of Rebuilding Hope

EVERGREEN (WSLS 10) - Volunteers with God's Pit Crew have finished the Rebuilding Hope project and now the big reveal is only days away.

In only 15 days a beautiful home was built thanks to the generosity of the community and countless hours of work by dozens of volunteers.

It's what volunteers call a labor of love; the community coming together for one special woman, Nancy Harris who has no idea what's in store.

"Oh I'm so excited. It's just like Christmas. I get up every morning and think , ‘how many more days'" Harris said.

More than just a home she's longed for, it's a chance at starting a new chapter in her life.

"You can't put in words how you feel. And I can get back to evergreen. I can get back to where I was born and where my husband and I lived. I think it is going to be real special," Harris said.

Back to where she lived her life for the man she was married too and was in love with for 53-years, her husband Keith Harris.

"It's hard to believe he won't be there. But he will be there," Harris said.

She's getting a new start in a new home, but in the same place she says her heart has always been.
