Dispatch center, homeowners cleaning up after Thursday's storm

BEDFORD COUNTY (WSLS 10) - People living in Bedford County will have to rely on 911 to reach emergency services after Thursday night's storm damaged equipment in the dispatch center.

County administration, including the sheriff's office, fire and rescue and public works cannot receive calls right now. The building also lost its internet connection.

There is no timeline yet as to when the lines will work again.

Meanwhile, in parts of Lynchburg several power lines are still down along Forrest Brook Road because of Thursday's high winds.

One homeowner in Forest is cleaning up after a tree crashed into his home. He told us he is talking with local contractors to get estimates on the tree removal.
