Golden Leaf Bistro delivers lunch to Danville Police Department

DANVILLE (WSLS 10) - A Danville restaurant shows support for local law enforcement.

Golden Leaf Bistro delivered lunch to the Danville Police Department Thursday afternoon.

The meal included chicken, macaroni and cheese, baked beans, and coleslaw.

Golden Leaf Bistro General manager Taylor Alvis said he just wanted to show his appreciation for police officers because of all of the recent attacks on law enforcement.

"We just appreciate their service and everything that they do for the community," Alvis explained.

Danville Police Chief Col. Phillip Broadfoot said having this kind of support makes the job a lot less stressful.

"Just knowing that there are people out there that do appreciate what you do, it really does help the officers and we thank everyone for providing these meals," Chief Broadfoot emphasized.

On Tuesday, Coca Cola Bottling Company in Danville brought in lunch for the department.
