RICHMOND (WSLS-10 SPORTS) The Redskins opened training camp in Richmond on Thursday on the heels of an NFC East title season. Thursday served as the debut of former Virginia Tech cornerback Kendall Fuller. The former Hokies standout corner was making his appearance as an NFL rookie in camp. The third round draft pick took the field sporting the #38 Redskins jersey. He joins a strong group of defensive backs including Josh Norman, Bashaud Breeland and another former Hokie, DeAngelo Hall.
"All the guys in there, they all look out after the young guys and make sure we're coming along, telling us things we may need to hear, things they see that we may not see. So definitely having guys like D-Hall, Breeland, Norman, all those guys are helpful,"explains Fuller.
Hall, an NFL veteran and 3-time pro-bowler, is no stranger to Kendall or the Fuller family. He played with Kendall's brother Vincent in Blacksburg.
"I was kind of devastated when he got hurt and slipped in the draft but when we had a chance to get him, I was overjoyed and everything happens for a reason. I can't wait to just keep teaching him everything I know and just watch him excel and be a great football player," says the Redskins veteran safety.
Fuller and Hall aren't the only talent out of the Commonwealth on this roster. We will hear from UVA's Morgan Moses and rookie T.J. Thorpe on Friday.
