Montgomery County man drowns near McCoy Falls

GILES COUNTY (WSLS 10) - A Montgomery County man died after police said he drowned during a fishing trip.

According to the Giles County Sheriff's Office, Tony Huddleston died Sunday evening near McCoy Falls.

He was fishing with three other people. They said he walked downstream, then disappeared.

His body was recovered about an hour later.

Huddleston was very active in the youth sports scene around Montgomery County. He regularly umpired, refereed, and coached.

Friends remember Huddleston as a great family man and role model.

Police say no foul play is suspected, but they are not sure what caused him to under.
