Miami Embraces Former QB as New Head Coach

CHARLOTTE (WSLS-10 SPORTS)-  The Hurricanes are chosen to finish second in the ACC Coastal Division under new Head Coach Mark Richt.

The former Miami quarterback returns to his alma mater after a 15-year stint at the University of Georgia.

The head coach is busy coaching his quarterbacks, and he's preparing to call plays again for the first time in years-- it is something he stopped doing at Georgia years ago.

He's been lobbying to get the facilities upgraded, and he's not stressing about the results, but rather focusing on the job at hand.

"All I can do is really control what I can control-- that is how hard we wore, prepare how hard we prepare, how do we treat our players how do we go about our business in recruiting-- are we doing things the right way you know. I focus much more on the process of doing things right and I feel like it was and I feel like the results will come," explains Richt.

"You know it's going to be the first time around for me for me in this league. I'm playing the Coastal division of course crossing over with Florida State and NC State and I mean I'm looking forward to it but there is a lot of unknowns for me.  I really don't know what to expect.  I have a little bit of an idea of what to expect from Georgia Tech because like you said we've been playing them for the last 15 years so it'll be fun," says Richt.
