ROANOKE (WSLS 10) - The Roanoke Police Department is advising drivers of street closures on Monday, July 25, 2016 for the Donald Trump event at Hotel Roanoke. The times of the closures will be from 8:00 am until 8:00 pm. According to police the closures are as follows:
North Jefferson Street between Shenandoah Ave and Wells Ave will be closed to all vehicular traffic;

Wells Ave between Williamson Rd and Gainsboro Rd closed to through traffic and Wells Ave between Commonwealth Ave and Jordan Alley will be closed to all vehicular traffic.
Please make appropriate adjustments to your Monday travel plans. Police are working to minimize any traffic distributions.
It is expected to be a very warm day, for those attending the event, please bring plenty of water or other fluids while waiting to enter the event site.
The scheduled stop comes in the wake of Hillary Clinton choosing Virginia Senator Tim Kaine as her running mate. Trump and running mate Mike Pence will hold a town hall at Hotel Roanoke at 3 p.m in the Roanoke Ballroom. Doors open for the event at 1 p.m.
