Between now and August 7th, fans can submit a family member or friend from our area that has served or currently serves in a branch of the U.S. Armed Forces.

The set will be given away on Military Appreciation night, August 27th. The selected members will also be honored with an on-field ceremony prior to the game.

"It's something that we wanted to do a couple years ago to really step up the ways that we appreciate the military and not just a general appreciation night but also put a face with that put a story with that", said Red Sox General Manager Ryan Shelton.

The Sox also have the "Tickets for Troops" initiative that helps military members to attend the game in August.

On the field, each Friday the team wears special military jerseys as part of Freedom Fridays.
