Florida State says Consistency is Key

CHARLOTTE, NC (WSLS 10 SPORTS) -

The other powerhouse in the Atlantic Division is Florida State. Three years removed from a National Title, the Seminoles are coming off a 10 win season anchored by running back Dalvin Cook. He rushed for nearly 1,700 yards and tallied more than 1,900 all purpose yards. He says the offense has to be consistent in order to be better.

"I think that we lacked that last year, we just got to be more consistent like I said and we're working towards that and I see guys stepping up and taking strides", said Cook.

"With the return of all 11 on offense it could be a plus and it could be a minus so you know we're working towards it to be a plus."

Coach Jimbo Fisher agrees consistency is the key both on and off the field.

We're so focused on the athletic part of it if those kids are having success as people and as students, you don't play well as a player. That's just a fact and people don't believe that all the time", said Fisher.

He's entering his seventh season as the Seminoles head coach.

"I've been coaching 27 years. The guys that developed as people develop as students have success in other areas in which they never really thought were important or actually thought they could never have great success and that's not everyone. It's amazing when they do well in those areas how they develop in a ballgame."

All eyes will be on the October game against rival Clemson. In the past five years the winner of that match-up has gone on to win the ACC. In Charlotte Eric Johnson WSLS 10 Sports.
