Body found in Pulaski County fire, suffered gunshot wound

PULASKI COUNTY (WSLS 10) - A suspicious death investigation is now underway after a body was found on Wednesday in Pulaski after a structure fire.

On Wednesday morning, Pulaski County firemen put out the fire at 6774 Cleburne Boulevard and discovered a burned body.

The body has not been identified, but authorities believe it's the 67-year-old owner, Roger Warren Roope.

The body was examined by the Medical Examiner's Office in Roanoke and determined to be a victim of a gunshot wound.
