Police: Father, son die in apparent electrocution in Lynchburg

LYNCHBURG (WSLS 10) - An investigation is underway after a father and son were killed in Lynchburg.

Police say the two appear to have died after being electrocuted by a power line.

Timothy Chittum Sr., 55, and Timothy Chittum Jr., 26, both from Lynchburg, were found unresponsive in the 200 block of Rivermont Avenue at about 3:15 p.m.

Witnesses say the two were doing maintenance work on a chimney when their ladder came in contact with a power line.

The victims have been transported to the medical examiner's office for an autopsy and confirmation on cause of death.
