(WSLS 10) - Lane closures on Interstate 81 northbound could affect your travel plans tonight. One lane will be closed from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. and 10 a.m. Between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m., all lanes will be closed. Traffic will be detoured off of the interstate and through the town of Buchanan. The closure will allow crews to work on the bridge.

The Andrew Haley Memorial/Smith Mountain Lake Lions Junior Golf Tournament begins today. Today, there is a longest drive contest and a putting competition as well as 18 holes of golf. The tournament continues into tomorrow.

Preparations get underway today as we Rebuild Hope in Appomattox County. God's Pit Crew will start loading equipment and building materials on trucks today. All of that will be moved to the building site starting on Thursday. The home build officially kicks off on Monday.

New River Valley Community College kicks off an opportunity for middle and high school girls to learn about careers in cybersecurity. The GenCyber Camp teaches the students about proper online behavior, cybersecurity and diversity. The camp runs all week.

Today is July 11th or 7-11, which means its Free Slurpee Day. Today from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. you can get a free small slurpee at participating 7-11 stores.
