Aware Foundation reminding community about James Walker

BEDFORD (WSLS10) - A local organization is raising awareness about people who have gone missing.

Volunteers from the Aware Foundation held a gathering for James Walker.

People handed out fliers and asked people to call police if they knew any information about Walker's disappearance.

Walker went missing in Bedford 16 years ago and friends claim he was last seen at the Food Lion there.

Saturday, his family members said they're glad an organization is reminding people to come forward with information about their loved one.

"'Cause somebody knows exactly what happened somebody knows what happened where my dad is," Bobby Walker, James Walker's son said.

The Aware Foundation started with the goal of finding missing people nationwide.

"The reason we're here today is we know that someone in this community knows what happened to James Walker this man did not just disappear on his own," Kenny Jarrels with the Aware Foundation said.
