Former Hokie Castlin Qualifies for Rio in 100m Hurdles

EUGENE (WSLS-10 SPORTS)- A pair of former Hokie hurdlers competed in the 100m hurdle Olympic Trials final--and one of them punched their ticket to Rio. Kristi Castlin ran a 12.50 to finish second behind Brianna Rollins for a spot on the team. Meanwhile Queen Harrison, a 2008 Olympian as a 19-year old at Virginia Tech, was nipped at the wire by Nia Ali and finished forth.  The margin was-2 one-thousandths of a second, 12.55 for Ali and 12.57 for Harrison. Castlin was a seven-time All-American at Virginia Tech. In another track note, VMI product Donnie Cowart finished 8th in the 3000m Steeplechase in 8:39.02.
