Virginia Tech team to return to Flint for more testing

BLACKSBURG (WSLS 10) - Virginia Tech students and faculty are getting ready to head back to Flint, Michigan, for another round of lead testing.

They spent Tuesday morning packing boxes full of supplies to test the water in 169 Flint homes over the next few weeks.

This will be the third round of testing. The previous round happened in March.

Lead levels have generally gone down since last year, but the team said Flint still does not meet the government's standards for lead and copper.

For now, it is still recommended that Flint residents use lead filters for drinking water.
