Round Town: Independence Day

(WSLS 10) - Enjoy the rides and the food at the Salem Fair this weekend. You can buy wristbands for unlimited rides throughout the weekend. The fair opens at noon on Saturday and Sunday and 4 p.m. on Monday. Stick around for the fireworks Monday night at 9:30 p.m.

Roanoke's Elmwood Park is home to HopeFest on Saturday. Enjoy food, craft vendors, a kids zone and live music. George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic will headline the event. Tickets at the gate are $45. The park opens at three. Proceeds benefit Total Action for Progress.

Head to Lexington for the July 4th Fireworks and Festival. Grammy Award nominated band The WannaBeatles will headline the event. In addition to music, there will be food and a classic car show. The fun begins Monday at noon with the fireworks at 9:15 p.m.

Christiansburg holds its annual Fourth of July Celebration. There will be a downtown festival from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with vendors, bands and a kids area. Monday night, the stadium at Christiansburg High School opens at 8:30 p.m. with fireworks starting at 9:15 p.m.

Roanoke celebrates Independence Day with its annual fireworks show. Before the fireworks, enjoy patriotic music from Winds of the Blue Ridge at 7:30 at River's Edge Sports Complex. The fireworks begin at 9:30 p.m.

The Town of Vinton celebrates our nation's 240th anniversary. There will be food, including funnel cakes, cotton candy and frozen lemonade as well as music and a patriotic program. Events take place Monday starting at 6 p.m. The fireworks begin at 9:30 p.m.

Celebrate Independence Day at the Lynchburg Hillcats game, as the team takes on the Frederick Keys. The game begins at 6:30 p.m. The fireworks begin after the game.
