SALEM (WSLS 10) - The Salem Red Sox announced on Wednesday morning that they will host the 2017 Carolina League All-Star Game.
The Red Sox President/GM Ryan Shelton made the announcement at Kiwanis Field in Salem.
The game is set for June 20, 2017 and it will be the first time since 2006 that Salem has hosted the event.
There will be a hitting challenge the day before, held at Kiwanis Field.
"A little over year ago we started working with the Carolina league president and the Board of Directors to secure this event so it's been a lot of work and planning to get it here and now we have a year ahead of us to make it the best event we've ever had here with Salem baseball," said Shelton.
