Authorities are on the scene at an explosion and fire at the Amoco BP Gas Plant near Highways 90 and 63 in Jackson County, Mississippi.

Witnesses tell WKRG they felt the explosion around 11:40 and could see a large plume of fire shooting up into the air.

It's not clear yet if anyone was hurt. Authorities are working to secure the scene.
