Ferrum's first female president honored by Board of Supervisors

FRANKLIN COUNTY (WSLS 10) - The Franklin County Board of Supervisors recognized Dr. Jennifer Braaten, the first female president of Ferrum College,at its meeting on Tuesday.

Braaten is the 10th president in Ferrum's history. She retires after 14 years of service.

The Board of Supervisors passed a resolution recognizing her tenure and contributions both to the college and to Franklin County.

Dr. Joseph Carson Spooner, the current Dean of Jonathan Edwards College at Yale University will take over her role beginning August 1, 2016.
