MONTGOMERY COUNTY (WSLS 10) - People have been calling the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office, saying a captain with the office accused them of not appearing for jury duty.
The sheriff's office says these calls are not from anyone associated with the office, but from a scammer.
The phone number the suspects called from was 540-239-0311, which deputies say is a fake number probably generated through Google Voice.
The sheriff's office does not collect money for failing to appear for jury duty.
