ROANOKE (WSLS10) - The first air medical provider in the Commonwealth celebrated a milestone. Carilion Clinic Life Guard held a celebration at the Roanoke Blacksburg Regional Airport Saturday for it's 35th anniversary.
People had a chance to look at one of the medical helicopters used to air lift people to Carilion Hospital when there's an emergency.

Organizers of the event said it was reunion for some who worked with Carilion Clinic Life Guard.
"This is one of the best days ever to be honest with you and to see the flight crew of the past, it's been a little bit of a reunion and for them to share their stories and talk about how the program has evolved over the years has been wonderful," Susan Smith, the program director for Carilion Clinic Life Guard.
Carilion Clinic Life Guard was founded back in 1981.
