Round Town: Art and animals

(WSLS 10) - The annual Guns and Hoses softball games is Saturday. Local firefighters will take on local police, playing for a good cause. Proceeds benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association. The games is at 3:30 p.m. at Salem Memorial Stadium. Tickets start at $9.

Buchanan Town Park hosts the Botetourt Children's Fishing Carnival. There will be a casting contest, fish fact challenge, worms in the dirt contest and more. It's Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Head to Mill Mountain Zoo on Saturday for Animal Acoustics. It's a fun-filled day of animal-themed musical activities. You'll hear music performed by local schools groups and musicians, get to make your own instrument and learn about the sounds animals make. The zoo's hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Saint Elias Maronite Catholic Church hosts the Lebanese Festival. The festival features great food, music and traditional folk dances. Hours are 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday. Admission and parking are free but bring money for the food.

The Sidewalk Art Show returns to downtown Roanoke this weekend. Nearly 130 artists from around the country will set up their artwork, including paintings, prints and sculptures. You'll have a chance to talk to the artists and take home some of their works. The show it Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
