Round Town: music and more

(WSLS 10) - Help a good cause while having fun at Touch a Truck in Altavista. You'll see all kinds of trucks including fire, crane, police and more. There's also food and face painting. It's Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Altavista Walmart. Proceeds from the event benefit the Children's Miracle Network.

Tanglewood Mall in Roanoke County hosts the annual Rally for Road Safety. At the free event, you'll learn about road safety laws and protection. There will be a distracted tricycles obstacle to demonstrate the dangers of distracted driving and a DUI simulator. The event is Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Lynchburg hosts the Hill City Jam. Country music newcomers LOCASH will take to the stage. The music starts at 6 p.m. Friday at Wyndhurst. Proceeds benefit New Vistas School.

Hundreds of Civil War re-enactors will take part in the Battle of New Market re-enactment this weekend. They will demonstrate Union and Confederate military tactics and camp activities. Events takes place Friday through Saturday at the Virginia Museum of the Civil War and the New Market Battlefield State Historical Park.

Martinsville's Hooker Field hosts the Division I Mid-Atlantic Regional tournament for the National Club Baseball Association. The double elimination tournament will determine which team travels to the NCBA World Series. Games take place Friday through Sunday.

Lynchburg City Stadium is home to the annual Lynchburg Music Festival this weekend. Six local bands and a DJ play leading up to the headliner, Thuderstruck, an AC/DC tribute band. Tickets are $25 at the gate. The festival runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
