(WSLS 10) - Veterans in central Virginia will get to visit several national monuments and memorials in Washington D.C. today including the World War II, Korean War and Vietnam Memorials. This is the sixth year that the Exchange Club has sponsored the trip. It's free for veterans to take part.
The Grayson County Sheriff's Department cuts the ribbon today, opening its new public safety facility. As we first told you in December, the county spent about $665 thousand to buy the old Grubb Building. The current Sheriff's office was built in the 1930s and was designed to house only half of what it holds today.

The properties have delinquent property taxes dating back at least seven years, with taxes on some properties going unpaid since 1997. The auction starts at 2 p.m. at the court house. Food Lion makes a donation today to Feeding America Southwest Virginia to help kick off the National Association of Letter Carriers Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive. Food Lion will donate 10,000 meals to the food bank. The food drive is coming up on Saturday. To take part, you can fill up a bag with food and leave it at your mailbox for your letter carrier to pick up with weekend.
