RUSTBURG (WSLS 10) - The Campbell County School Board named Christie Cundiff the new principal of Rustburg Middle School on Monday.
The school's current principal, Kathy Bowles, is set to retire at the end of June 2016. She served the district for 31 years and was the school's principal for the past five years.

Cundiff has extensive experience as an administrator and comes to Campbell County from Amherst County Schools where she has been the Principal of Amherst Middle School since 2001.
Before becoming the principal there, she was an assistant principal at Monelison Middle School.
Cundiff has teaching experience in Lynchburg City Schools as well as Campbell County Schools, where she taught mathematics and business education at William Campbell Combined School.
Cundiff graduated from Virginia Tech with a bachelor's of in business, and then completed her master's in Educational Leadership at Lynchburg College.
She will begin with Campbell County Schools July 1, 2016.
