Arrests made in alleged Radford University hazing incident

RADFORD (WSLS 10) - Four men have been arrested following an alleged hazing incident at Radford University.

Radford City Police say they received a complaint about Radford University's Chapter of the Pi Kappa Phi fraternity April 8.

Jesse Vaughn Leasure, 20, is charged with hazing and aid and abet underage possession of alcohol and Evan Ross Statterly, 22, faces the same charges. Andrew Morgan Piccione, 20, is charged with hazing and Theodore Eugene Anna, 22, faces the same charge.

The event that lead to the men's arrest remains under investigation, and officers are not releasing any more details at this time.

Radford University was notified on April 11, 2016 that the national fraternity of Pi Kappa Phi imposed suspension on the Delta Phi chapter at Radford University for up to 60 days. The national organization, Radford University and Radford City Police immediately commenced investigations into allegations of hazing.

Radford University is aware that Radford City Police have charged four RU students today in relation to the city police department's investigation.

The University's investigation is still in progress and is expected to be completed soon. With regard to any students implicated in the University's ongoing investigation, degrees may not be conferred at the upcoming commencement ceremonies until resolution of the University's investigation.

Radford University takes these allegations seriously, will investigate thoroughly the facts of the situation and will hold participants accountable for their actions.

Radford University has and will continue to cooperate with the City of Radford Police Department to resolve this matter.
