HIGHLAND COUNTY (WSLS 10) - Stop three on the Virginia Proud Weather Tour took Jeff Haniewich to the newly renovated Highland Center.
Monday marked the ribbon cutting at The Highland Center after $3 million in renovations. The building will even host the Highland County High School prom later in May.
That's just one of the planned events for the center.
"It's going to be a hub for many activities, within the community. I know the Virginia Tourism Corporation walked through the building not too long ago and they said, 'a lot of communities would need three buildings to accomplish what we've done in this one building," said Donna Bedwell, a board member for the center.
"Having a facility like this, particularly with the diversity that it brings to the community, and the incubator-type facilities, the conference facilities, everything that goes along with that adds an asset for this community that we just could never have dreamed of several years ago," said Robin Sullenberger with the Highland County Economic Development Authority.
On Tuesday, the Weather Tour heads to Bath County to highlight The Homestead, which is celebrating 250 years.
