Man arrested in connection to missing girl had criminal history

CHRISTIANSBURG (WSLS 10) - New details are emerging about the man arrested in connection to a missing girl this weekend.

24-year-old Seth Koon has a criminal history in Salem and Roanoke dating back to 2013, including marijuana and driving charges.

Koon is now in jail on a charge of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. He was found Sunday with 14-year-old Austyn Hughes of Christiansburg. She went missing April 30th.

Now, the youth organization Straight Street New River Valley said once it launches, it will work to keep teenagers safe.

"Local law enforcement in this area has done a great job with talking to parents about the safety of the Internet," said Straight Street New River Valley supporter Patricia Bland. "We want to talk to the teenagers."

Straight Street New River Valley is currently raising funds for a facility.
