LYNCHBURG (WSLS 10) - The Lynchburg Police Department is searching for a suspect following a shooting on Friday night. It happened at approximately 10:00 p.m.
Authorities responded to a report of a possible malicious wounding at the Applebee's on Old Forest Road.

When officers arrived, they found a victim, 19 year old Rashad P. Stone of Washington, D.C., suffering from a gunshot wound to his right leg. Stone says he was walking in the area of Devonshire Road and Kettering Lane when he was approached by a male wearing a dark hoodie. He says the suspect demanded money. Stone says he fled the area and that's when the suspect opened fire. The victim then ran to Applebee's where he discovered he had been shot.
He was transported to the Lynchburg General Emergency Room to be treated of non-life threatening injuries.
Authorities are searching for a black male in a dark hoodie. No further suspect information is available at this time.
The incident is under investigation.
