CHRISTIANSBURG (WSLS 10) - A youth organization that left the New River Valley more than a decade ago could be making a comeback.

Straight Street Ministries is currently located in Roanoke. It is a place where children and teenagers can come to hang out and play games, as well as be mentored and hear guest speakers.

The Montgomery County centers shut down in the early 2000s, but there is now a push to reopen a facility.

"The situation that happened in Blacksburg and Christiansburg dealing with young girls, I looked around realized there really isn't anything for the young people to do here in the New River Valley again," said Straight Street employee Bob Anderson.

The group is looking to raise about $150,000 to launch. It is still working to find a facility as well.
