BOTETOURT CO. (WSLS 10) - Virginia State Police are investigating a deadly crash that happened in Botetourt County Thursday night.
According to police, it happened at 9:46 p.m. on Route 220 just south of Route 722 in Eagle Rock.

Police say a 2012 Hyundai Accent was traveling south during heavy rain when the car lost control causing it to run off the left side of the road and hitting a tree.
The driver Dustin Byrd, 26, of Eagle Rock died at the scene. He was wearing his seat belt.
The passengers Brittany Byrd, 25, Matthew Frymier, 19, and a 2 year old were all wearing seat belts and were taken to Roanoke Memorial Hospital for treatment.
