RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - The State Board of Elections has voted to overhaul Virginia's voter registration form to make it easier for residents to vote.

Media outlets report that the changes to the new registration form, which takes effect July 1, were approved Thursday.

Voters will no longer have to check a box saying they will be at least 18 year old on the date of the election. The new form simply asks for a birth date, as some people would forget to check the box.

The form also includes a reminder to voters to fill in their full social security numbers, not just their final four digits.

Anna Scholl of left-leaning advocacy group Progress Virginia says feedback from the new forms was positive.
