Felon arrested after being found with guns and drugs in Bedford County

BEDFORD COUNTY (WSLS 10) - Bedford County deputies arrested a known felon who they say had a rifle, a pistol, meth, cocaine and marijuana.

On Tuesday, April 5, the sheriff's office received a call about a man walking near Goode Road near Terrace View acting suspicious, carrying an AR-15 style rifle.

Deputies found the man and identified him as 27-year-old Justin Goodman of Forest.

While speaking with Goodman, deputies say they observed a rifle barrel sticking out of a towel on the side of the road near where Goodman was standing.

They found an AR-15 style rifle in the towel and asked if he had anything else on him. That's when deputies say the found a .45-caliber pistol in the waistband of his pants, about 7 grams of methamphetamine packaged separately, about a gram of cocaine and a small amount of marijuana.

Goodman was arrested and charged with possession of Schedule 1 or 2 controlled substance (methamphetamine), possession of Schedule 1 or 2 controlled substance (cocaine), possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm while in possession of Schedule 1 or 2 controlled substance and possession of marijuana.

He is being held in the Bedford Adult Detention Center on no bond.
