DANVILLE (WSLS10) - As Danville police continue to investigate Thursday morning's shooting, they have a reminder for everyone.

"If you get suspicious that something's about to happen or you're approached by a person you don't know," said Lt. Mike Wallace, "if you have a cell phone it's a good idea to get on your cell phone and tell someone what's going on. Call police if you get really concerned."

Police say a man was walking down Greenwich Avenue at about 12:30 a.m. when he noticed two men start walking down the other side of the street.

The man told police they yelled at him to give them everything he had, so he took off running towards N. Main Street and was shot in his left foot. He added that while you never want to automatically assume that you'll be the victim of a crime if you're out walking late at night it would be a good idea to be a little more aware than you would usually be during the day.

As of Thursday afternoon, police have no reason to believe that this shooting is connected to the shooting on Monday night or the paper deliverer being shot at early Tuesday morning.

No suspects have been arrested in any of these cases.
