PITTSYLVANIA CO. (WSLS 10) - An investigation is underway after a deputy was shot during a standoff in Pittsylvania County.
It happened at the intersection of Blairs Lane and Keeling Drive in the town of Blairs.

Family and friends of the suspect, Brian Cundiff, say the standoff started after he shot a family member's phone with a shotgun, leading them to call 911. Investigators say the deputy responded and was shot by the suspect, who then barricaded himself inside the home.
Cundiff surrendered around 12:30 a.m. Wednesday and is now in custody.
Arraignment is scheduled for May 2nd in Pittsylvania County General District Court on charges of attempted capital murder of a law enforcement officer, use of a firearm in commission of a felony and assault and malicious wounding of a law enforcement officer.
The deputy was treated and released from the Danville Regional Medical Center.
