MONTGOMERY COUNTY (WSLS 10) - A school custodian was named Montgomery County Public School's support staff employee of the year. To the cheers of more than 600 students Tom Bentley's name was announced. Students lined up after the announcement to hug Bentley, the senior custodian at Falling Branch Elementary. He has worked in the school system for 32 years. The Principal says the head custodian is self-motivated, leading a staff of three other custodians.
Margaret Christle, a library media specialist at Auburn Middle School, was announced as the Montgomery County Public School Teacher of the Year. The announcement was met with cheers and applause by students and staff. She has worked at Auburn Middle since 2014 and has also worked at Blacksburg High School.

"I embrace four basic concepts as a school librarian," said Christle. "Always invest in my teachers, do more than just meet my students' library needs, create a library that attracts all students, and practice consistency, not spurts of greatness."
Christle was chosen from among all of the school level teachers of the year and will move on to the Regional Teacher of the Year competition.
