(WSLS 10) - The Totally Rad Roanoke - Star City Concert Series kicks off tonight. Huey Lewis and the News will take the stage at Elmwood Park Amphitheater. Other concerts coming this year include Blondie in May and Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys in August.

A Bedford County man who faces charges of attempted capital murder of a police officer returns to court today. Investigators say George Chasson shot at a state trooper during a chase in January. The chase occurred after a woman called 911 saying that her husband was making threats and going on a rampage. Chasson remains in the Blue Ridge Regional Jail without bond.

Students and staff at Virginia Tech continue celebrating Earth Week. Today, the university will install its first solar powered table. It has USB ports where students can plug in their phones and charge them. The solar panels store enough power to charge devices for up to two cloudy days.

If you live in Lynchburg, you'll have a chance to hear from the candidates running for City Council and Treasurer. The League of Women Voters will hold a forum tonight starting at 7 p.m. All eight candidates running for council and two of the three running for treasurer will participate.

The president of the Virginia Chamber of Commerce will speak at Radford University today as part of the Global Capitalism Lecture Series. The series is meant to provoke thought and discussion about capitalism and free enterprise.
