ROANOKE (WSLS 10) -Â Roanoke Officers vow to protect the public, but one is taking her commitment to make a difference off the side of a building.
Officer Jasmine Hariston is going over the edge of the Patrick Henry Building in the upcoming rappelling fundraiser for Big Brothers Big Sisters.

She's doing so to show her little you can overcome any obstacle to meet your goal.
"I have tried to motivate her and talk to her and help her with homework and just let her know, you know, you can overcome your situation," Officer Hariston said.
Jasmine and her little have been matched for a year and meet every week at the after school program Oliver Hill House.
