Four arrested, children removed from home as part of Radford meth bust

RADFORD (WSLS 10) – Radford police arrested four people and removed children from a home as part of a meth bust on Monday.

Police found a meth lab while executing a search warrant at a home in the 2600 block of Second Street as part of a narcotics investigation. They also found three children at the home who were removed and taken into the custody of Radford City Department of Social Services.

Police seized meth, precursor chemicals and production equipment found at the home.

Radford building officials are in the process of condemning the residence. Assistance was provided on scene by personnel from the Virginia State Police Drug Task Force, Radford City Fire Department and Radford Emergency Medical Services.

All four individuals arrested are from Radford.

Jimmy Lynn Walker, 50, was charged with five felony warrants related to the possession and production of methamphetamine, three felony counts of allowing children to be present during methamphetamine production, and three felony counts of child endangerment.

Michelle Leigh Wheeling, 33, was charged with four felony warrants related to the possession and production of methamphetamine, three felony counts of allowing children to be present during methamphetamine production and three felony counts of child endangerment.

April Lynn Wheeling, 28, was charged with four felony warrants related to the possession and production of methamphetamine.

Fifty-three-year-old James Lee Wheeling, who is the father of Michelle and April, was charged with four felony warrants related to the possession and production of methamphetamine.

All four are in the custody of New River Valley Regional Jail and being held without bond.

The investigation is ongoing.
