"There was an erroneous active shooter alert which went out to multiple VA facilities but it was nullified. At no time was there an active threat at the Salem VAMC campus or any of its buildings. Salem VAMC employees were notified that the alert was erroneous and the reason for the alert being triggered is under investigation," said Ann Benois, a Salem VA Medical Center spokeswoman.
At about 10:45 a.m. another alert went out saying the threat was a glitch in the system.
