HALIFAX COUNTY (WSLS 10) - Deputies and troopers are investigating a shooting that happened on Saturday.
At about 1:36 p.m., Halifax County EOC received a report that a man was shot in the Turbeville community of Halifax County.

Deputies from the sheriff's office and Virginia State Police responded to the scene and found the man suffering from a single gunshot wound to his upper right thigh area, according to a press release from the sheriff's office.
Deputies, along with troopers, administered care to the man before EMS personnel arrived. He was transported to Duke University Medical Center for treatment and later released.
A hand gun was recovered at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing and charges are pending.
